Finally, we've found the issue.
There was some kind of incompatibility with the below sentence in
some .htaccess file

# php_value mbstring.func_overload 7

Simply commenting that line, all is running ok
Oh!!! I know, it seems not feasible, but .....

Thanks a lot to Google people to support me finding the issue
