Hi,

I have read about OAuth and it appears to be aimed at web
applications, and the docs suggest that there is some user
intervention required in the process as the user is taken to a login
screen.

I use an application that migrates mail, calendar and contacts running
as a background service on a server.

To overcome the constraint that I currently need to have the user's
own gmail name and password to migrate contacts in this way, can
anyone advise whether OAuth is a suitable alternative (remembering
that the process runs silently in the background).

Thanks in advance Colin..
