i believe it's not so much xml as the idea of relevancy
that doesn't lend itself to stepped pagination and doesn't
map to a database control structure concept.

that said, sessions don't seem a requirement for
pagination; it's more that the concept of strict
page numbers shouldn't be expected with google-base.

next and previous seem adequate for general indexing.
