I've been able to successfully make queries using the link attribute
with wildcard characters. However, I can't figure out why the
following isn't returning results:

http://www.google.com/base/feeds/snippets/?bq=roxy%20earth%20string[item%20type:products][link:*moosejaw.com*10048247*]

Even though this search:

http://www.google.com/base/feeds/snippets/?bq=roxy%20earth%20string[item%20type:products][link:*moosejaw.com*]

and this

http://www.google.com/base/feeds/snippets/?bq=roxy%20earth%20string[item%20type:products][link:*moosejaw.com*Ruffle*]

Returns a result that has both moosejaw.com and 10048247 in the link
attribute (here is the full url in the link field (http://
www.moosejaw.com/moosejaw/shop/product_Roxy-Women-s-Earth-Angel-Ruffle-String-Bikini-Bottom_10048247____?cm_mmc=CSE-_-GoogleBase-_-na-_-Roxy-Women-s-Earth-Angel-Ruffle-String-Bikini-Bottom&ad_id=GoogleBase)

Please help me understand what I'm doing wrong. Thanks.
