That sounds adequate for the purpose.
Something about the terminology vaguely bothers me. (At least, the selector
may be _comprehensible_ as in _parseable_, but with no possible/implemented
rewrite.) It feels like adding a kludge rather than the right solution, but
I'm not sure why.
