Actually I think it'd be the flash sandbox security that'd stop it in that case. Hmmmm.
This page: http://code.google.com/apis/gdata/calendar.html#add_event seems to be saying that it can be done but that the "authentication system (known as "Google Authentication for Installed Applications") is appropriate only for use in installed client applications such as desktop clients, not for use in web applications."
