I ended up building some retry logic, and everything works out. I feel
guilty because I don't understand the cause of the problem but it does
work now.
Goes kinda like this:
if Hit stupid google error:
Wait 30 seconds
Retry
if Hit stupid google error:
Wait 2 minutes
Retry
Fail if we hit it again!
So far this has worked fine, hitting the second retry about 1 in 5
times! Yuck
