Ok, I see you are using java.util.logging.*

I used jconsole to set the logging level of the global logger to FINEST. 
This didn't do anything.
Also, JMX (jconsole) shows that none of the gdata loggers are showing up 
as available through JMX.

I'm unfamiliar with java.util.logging; I stay away from 
java.util.logging because it is fundamentally broken wrt secure Java Web 
Start code and I don't want to use different logging frameworks for 
different pieces of code. So, how do you recommend I change a production 
system to use a different logging level if the loggers aren't available 
through JMX? (I'm seeing 20 available, and none are com.google.*)
