Take a look at the com.google.gdata.client.Query class, which can aid in the construction of queries.  Specifically query.setUpdatedMin() can be used to  set the  minimum update time for returned  events.   You use the Query object in combination with com.google.gdata.client.Service.query() to execute a query and return the resulting feed.    This will do all the feed/query URL composition automatically.
