The problem that was reported earlier was only reported by people using
blogger, and was fixed for them. I have not seen the calendar throw a
redirect on a post yet, but the code should work the same.
When you digg deeper into the codebase, what you see is that you are using a
gdatauthrequest class (gdataauthrequest.cs), because you created the service
the way you did..
So when you call service.insert, it calls GAuthRequest.Execute in the end.
This one calls base.Execute. There the code you see get's executed. Now
GAuthRequest catches that exception that you want to catch. It will,
assuming strictRedirect is not set to true, only automatically redirect for
GET operations. Otherwise it should already do the redirect correctly.

So far I've tried changing the URI to https:// but that didn't change
anything. I've also seen some people reporting problems with an older
version of the API, but mines the latest and the exception throwing
code was in the right order (apparently it used to be in a different
order, causing my problem) as below:

I'm not exactly sure why I can't grab this exception and just handle it
(which would be easy enough) or what to do about it.
