The only way to 'convert' would be from edit uri to id, since the edit uri is essentially the id and a sequence number. To be most compatible you should save both fields seperatly though, since it may not be guaranteed that these fields convert like that.
Since converting editurl -> id is lossy, the other direction is not possible.
