Hi David,

There's not a whole lot of documentation on working with the comments
feed, but I did find this entry in the knowledge base:

Basically, you need to add the <gd:comment> element to your event
entry before POSTing it to the event's edit link.  Also, the comments
feed for an event is the URL of the event followed by "/comments" like
this: 
http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/default/private/full/<eventID>/comments
