Hi Charlie,

Thanks for the additional information.  I didn't realize the event was
being inserted when you receive this error - ugh, what a pain.  I'll
do some more digging and see if I can figure out where in the pipline
this error is occuring.  I agree with your suggestions: either insert
the event and return the id, or don't insert it and return the
error.

I'll let you know when I find out more,
