Nope, same problem. I also tried adding it for the <gd:who> and <gd:attendee*> elements as well (with various permutations just for luck). In a way that makes sense - since it's not a total failure, just some attributes (rel, valueString) and one child element (attendeeType) that's not working. I also tried not setting the attendeeStatus specifically but it gets set to a default event.invited value and attendeeType still doesn't appear.
