Hi Dave, I have confirmed that virtual calendar, like the weather calendar, is in fact not a "real" calendar in the backend. It is auto-generated on demand, hence there is no concept of backlog of deleted events, therefore the appearance of having 24 hours purging of deleted events.
You are right, there is a lack of documentation, I have talked to the team that works on virtual calendar and have asked them to try to produce some doc on it. We will look out for that.
