Will the new Google App Engine allow for better performance of the
Gcal API? It would be great if GCal API (and the other G* API) calls
were handled in such a way that they used Google's back-end
infrastructure for very fast response. As it is, the GCal API is nice,
but somewhat slow for non-trivial applications due to the number of
back and forth requests/responses between an application and Google.
Having tight integration on the back-end would encourage more
developers to use App Engine and the various G* API's to build real
apps.
