Hi Nicko, thanks for getting back to me.

All the encoding is happening fine, apart from certain characters.

An example of these characters being the start quote that you get from
MS word, “.

When those are htmlencoded and passed through to google they appear in
the google calendar as question marks in browsers.

I'm starting to think I need to write a purge script to replace all
these characters with their respective non MS fucked about with ones.

I don't want to do that though, as I've spent alot of time making all
my system UTF8 compliant so that they can handle these f*cked about
with by MS characters.

I can copy and paste these characters into my google calendar, so
google's databsae can handle them, it's the encoding and passing them
over to google I"m struggling with.
