It could be a manifestation of the same issue, but I can't tell
without looking at the source.

This is, arguably, more serious, since having the calendar creation
fail with a 404 and yet having the calendar created means that I have
no way to access the necessary URIs to modify, or even identify, that
calendar.  I can't even delete it, unless I artificially name it
something that I can search on from the all-calendars feed.  So the
user gets stuck with an extra calendar.

Based on that, I think it deserves (?) its own entry in the bug
database.  I'll do that soon.
