The -05:00 and -04:00 parts of your start and end times are the time zones, respectively 5 and 4 hours after UTC. If you don't include those, then Google will assume that the times are in "the observer's local timezone" which I think will mean the time zone of the calendar, but might be different if there are multiple users of the calendar and/or depending on the settings of the system where the browser is running. I can't really test this because I'm getting lots of errors right now.
