Lotus Notes allows a "Custom" repeating pattern, where the user selects specific dates from a calendar control. In the case of custom recurrence patterns, (for example on Aug 17, 19, and 20th), Lotus Notes uses the RDATE;VALUE=PERIOD element,, and creates each starttime/endtime occurrence in the iCal header as:
DTSTART;TZID=20080818T210000Z DTEND;TZID=20080818T220000Z TRANSP:OPAQUE RDATE;VALUE=PERIOD:20080817T210000Z/20080817T220000Z ,20080819T210000Z/20080819T220000Z,20080820T210000Z/20080820T220000Z In this case, Gmail correctly represents the first occurrence with the recurring icon on the calendar event, but none of the other events (on the 19th and 20th in this case) are listed in the calendar. Our request would be to have full support for RDATE;VALUE=PERIOD: in accordance with the iCal specification.
