getting invalind request uri

I'm trying to post an event to a calendar using the Zend function:

$newEvent = $service->insertEvent($event, $catId);

$event is an instance of service's newEventEntry();
$catId is the uri of the calendar and I obtain it using $calendar-
>getSelfLink()->getHref().'/private/full'

The catch of Zend_Gdata_App_HttpException returns

Error: Invalid request URI

And the log returns
