Hi Todd,

Yes, a sync between Google calendar and the iPhone would be nice.
However, the API on the iPhone does not allow manipulation of the
calendar. So unless you build your own calendar UI on the iPhone, you
can't build a sync for it. You can definitely access the Google
calendar but not the iPhone. So half of the equation is missing
unfortunately. I really wish Apple would open that up.

I'm not sure why Apple has chosen to keep that part of the API closed.
Perhapse to stop others from competing with their own products? I'm
sure their "rationale" is about keeping a positive user experience by
preventing third party apps from messing up your calendar events. But
I'm sure the true reasons are about cutting out the competition. At
least, that's my take on it.

It's unfortunate because I'm sure there could be quite a large number
of apps that could be built that could take advantage of even just
being able to read the calendar.
