You actually can set a gCal:uid if you set <gCal:syncEvent
value="true" />. It's not something I recommend for most purposes,
since we enforce UID uniqueness even after the event has been deleted.

As Ray recommended, use an extended property if at all possible.

(And in all cases, you won't be able to set a custom atom:id. That's
always auto-generated by the calendar servers).
