I cannot reproduce this problem. I am able to create a calendar, delete it and then create another calendar with the same name. I am also able to create multiple calendars with the same name. I don't believe that there is uniqueness constraint on a calendar's name that could lead the behavior that you are seeing.
I have occasionally seen the calenarID displayed in the UI instead of the name. This seems to be a latency or data availability problem in Google's servers I have never seen this problem in the API, but then I don't refresh the same page so often in the APM. This problem is transitory although it seems to happen more often with some calendars than with others.
