Rob,
The URL you want to use would be:

http://www.google.com/calendar/feeds/913g...194qfg%40group.calendar.google.com/private/full/{event
id}

(%40 is the URL-escaped form of the @-symbol.)

The version comes from the <link rel="self" href="..."> element in the
returned data. Without this (or an ETag, if you're using protocol
version 2 instead of 1), the delete will fail.
