Seems like an identical problem I am having (See post http://groups.google.com/group/google-calendar-help-dataapi/browse_thread/thread/bd577ddfe371e590).
Let me know if there is any progress on your issue. The problem does not occur for every user who has access to this particular shared calendar I am having issues with, so its all really strange.
