If that scenario works for you, I would suggest to go along with it :-).

You might also consider 2-Legged
OAuth<http://code.google.com/apis/gdata/docs/auth/oauth.html#2LeggedOAuth>for
the authorization mechanism as you would be able to "impersonate"
those
users without having to store their credentials. If you do so, please do not
forget to add the "xoauth_requestor_id" query parameter to all of your
requests.
