Somewhat complicated but here's an idea that might work. A gantt chart
is basically a multi dataset horizontal bar chart with gaps and a few
data point labels. I know that's over simplified and if your chart is
complicated then your url will be really long but it should work

see this example without data labels but illustrative of the
technique. Basically, repeating the colors for each datapoint of each
dataset but substituting the chart background color (in this case
FFFFFF) for where you need the gaps gives the illusion of a gantt
chart.
