Although I don't see a problem with the API rendering characters in the desired language when it knows it needs to, but it has difficulty at times.
Excuse the fact that I have absolutely no knowledge of the language in question. Look at these three examples In this first example (basically the same as above) a character is rendered properly http://chart.apis.google.com/chart? cht=bvg&chs=400x300& chd=e:MzmZZmI95m& chco=d2691e|9acd32|808000|bdb76b|a0522d& chxt=x,y& chxl=0:|%E4%B8%ADJan|%E4%B8%AD%7CMar|Apr|May|1:||1000|2000|3000|4000| 5000& chbh=40,10,30 While in this second example the character is not rendered correctly http://chart.apis.google.com/chart? cht=bvg& chs=400x300& chd=e:MzmZZmI95m& chco=d2691e|9acd32|808000|bdb76b|a0522d& chxt=x,y& chxl=0:|Jan|%E4%B8%AD%7CMar|Apr|May|1:||1000|2000|3000|4000|5000& chbh=40,10,30 Notice that this third example also works correctly http://chart.apis.google.com/chart? cht=bvg&chs=400x300& chd=e:MzmZZmI95m& chco=d2691e|9acd32|808000|bdb76b|a0522d& chxt=x,y& chxl=0:|Jan%E4%B8%AD%7C%E4%B8%AD%7CMar|Apr|May|1:||1000|2000|3000|4000| 5000& chbh=40,10,30 The only difference between the three is the inclusion of a Chinese character in the first label. It appears that the application looks at the first label to be rendered, and finds a font to draw in the image. If that first label does not contain characters in the desired language it won't necessarily render right.
