Hello, I find Google Charts really pratical. Probably could be a really nice thing for the blogosphere althought it obvious (at least as it seems to me) seldom used. One factor could be that people feels (or beliave without trying) that it isnt easy to use.
One thought I had is that the charts although good for more conservative use maybe isnt the thing most blogs need. This thought came to me since I myself would need some other types of Charts for a project. And therefor would suggest them as a new functionality or if they one or several already exists and I missed them that someone could point them out. The project I'm doing is some exercises for the brain to train lateral thinking and general intelligence. Its a rather long serie of articles (if popular enough with readers) and we have so far only published a couple. To stimulate lateral thinking unusual charts to represent problems is one method and the easiest. The same type of charts "needed" here could partly be the same type I beliave would make Google Chart more popular in the blogosphere. Here I would suggest (I could make more suggestions based in my need if is requested and would give results): 1. Bricks with circles. Circles can have different colors. Se for example the ugly ones I did in Gimp (not published yet but the draft is readable): http://www.nyfikenvital.org/?q=node/2479 2. The possibility to display playing cards to illustrate values. Example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Playing_card_diamond_6.svg 3. Simple animal silhouettes. Se for example the following I fould of a cat: http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fil:Cat_silhouette.svg 4. The type of simple 3D "human-looking" figures common on blogs. The same sort comming in RUP and other project formalia BS. Example of thing to do with them: Set color, how they point and so on. 2 - 4 is a bit different to 1 and hence that I made 3 such suggestions. You could implement them (I think) with the same functions and use a setting that sets something similar to a font choose. Hence with standardisation of the format used no upper limit exists for adding such support with font sets. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Google Chart API" group.
