I'm creating charts with a data range of 1-50 where 1 is high and 50 is low. This can be achieved by using chds to set a min/max of 50/1 which reverses the normal direction of a chart. However, chds is only applied if I use text encoding. I'd prefer to use simple encoding as it's more efficient and easily accommodates my data range.
