Have you drawn the chart you're looking for/expecting to see? I think you're describing a situation that Venn diagrams are not suitable for. Every time you draw a third circle that intersects both of the other two circles you are geometrically obliged to draw a portion of that circle through parts of one of the two extant circles and not the other.
There is a technique to overcome this, where you shade a portion of the diagram to indicate that set is empty.
