I wrote this text into the discussion board of the chart API, but noone
answered there, so I'll try it this way:

Using only Asian symbols seem to work:

Asian symbol and German Umlauts "äöü" gives a wrong result ("äöü"
shown as dots):

The "?"-character seems to confuse the chart-Api completely - both
characters, the Asian character and the "?"-char is not shown
correctly, both as rectangles:

If I add the German Umlauts again, all characters except of the Asian
symbol are shown incorrectly:
