Just use more dots. You're limited to 1000 pixels in either dimension, and a 
total of 300,000 pixels in area, but that's enough for a 1x3" image at 300dpi 
or 6x2 at 150. Not huge, but not all bad. You could try scaling up with 
something like imagemagick which might produce reasonable results. Aside from 
that, look around for an SVG chart generator for vector output.
