Generating QR Codes with H and Q Error Correction Levels appear to prematurely advance the Version of the QR Code.
I'm trying to generate 15 character Version 1 QR Codes using only AlphaNumeric characters and keep getting back Version 2 QR Codes when applying the Q Error Correction Level which should support 16 AlphaNumeric characters. Examples: https://chart.googleapis.com/chart?chs=150x150&cht=qr&chl=HTTP://A.TMK.ME&chld=Q https://chart.googleapis.com/chart?chs=150x150&cht=qr&chl=ABCDEFGHIJKLMNO&chld=Q https://chart.googleapis.com/chart?chs=150x150&cht=qr&chl=AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA&chld=Q https://chart.googleapis.com/chart?chs=150x150&cht=qr&chl=000000000000000A&chld=Q 14 characters seems to work: https://chart.googleapis.com/chart?chs=150x150&cht=qr&chl=ABCDEFGHIJKLMN&chld=Q There were no examples I could create that allowed a 15 or 16 alphanumeric character string to be encoded as a Version 1 QR Code... Can anyone help clarify the specifications and what might be going on to prevent Version 1 QR Codes from being generated in these cases?
