Ah, thanks for the clarification - the Wordpress example helps clarify
the use case.

Apart from tracking specific classes of users, it's possible to break
down specific subsections of a site using analytics' Content
Drilldown. It isn't a perfect solution, though, since your visitor and
source information is still broken down across the entire site, so I
agree that there's probably room for improvement there as well.
