Hi, my name is François-Michel, I'm from Laval University in Québec, Canada. My professors and I recently started an open source project on Distributed Evolutionary Algorithms in Python. To make a long story short, we'd wish to use DEAP as project name but it is currently used on sourceforge. I followed the 8 steps mentionned in the FAQ :
http://sourceforge.net/projects/deap/ 1. The project had no code commited for the last 1131 days. Over the last year it has been downloaded exactly 31 times. 2. No it seems to be a real project. 6. I tried to contact the developpers without any success over the last months.
