I teach a web app development course with approx 100 students. For
their major assignment, they form teams of 5-6 people and conceive,
design and develop a web app in php with a mysql database back end.

An aim of the course is to teach them to use tools that "real" dev
teams use, including version control and bug tracking -- in the past,
we have had them using subversion and mantis on a Solaris host -- a
small problem with this is that they cannot use svn clients from home
because of the university's firewall. Another problem is that the
teaching staff cannot monitor their use of the tools, therefore cannot
coach them on how to use them better.

We would like to tell the students to use Project Hosting on Google
Code but are wondering whether this would be ok with Google.

Regards,
Audrey
