Hi

I have repeated times requested mr. Daniel Kayiwa
([email protected]) to change the name of his project found at:
http://code.google.com/p/mobilehrs/
He is not willing to do as requested.

Mr. Daniel Kayiwa was until recently employed by Makerere University,
Uganda and was there earlier working on a project called MobileHRS.
MobileHRS is an open source project that was started in 2005 and is
being used for demographic surveillance. MobileHRS is well known in
the field of demographic surveillance globally.

MobileHRS is a project and a software solution built on top of HRS
(Household Registration System) and EpiHandy. It is a joint project by
University of Bergen, Norway, University of Maine, USA and University
of Makerere, Uganda.

Mr. Daniel Kayiwas new project (with the same name) is a web front end
for the mobilehrs system.

It however is being developed without any formal linkages to the
MobileHRS system.

We of course welcome this addition to the open source world, however
we can not accept that he uses the mobilehrs name for his own project.

Our only request is that he changes the name of his own open source
project to something that can not be confused with the original
mobilehrs.

This is an unfortunate situation and I have really tried to find
another solution than making this request!

Best regards,

Jørn Klungsøyr
