Hi Google Code Hosting project, Per RMS' email below, the Free Software Foundation still uses the GNU Queue name, and so I have 'voted' on the Google form page below to keep 'queue' reserved.
I actually consider the FSF to be the owner of the GNU Queue name, and would like to "donate" or "transfer" my "ownership" of the project name in Google's system to the FSF (or to an FSF email address), so that they can manage the project name and respond to these kinds of inquiries. There doesn't currently seem to be a way to do this. (The form also currently only allows one to express an "opinion" on whether to keep the name reserved. This suggests that a human at Google Hosting will make the ultimate decision, but the form doesn't include a mechanism or an email address for providing comments to aide that decision.) Can an ownership "transfer" or "donation" mechanism be added be added to Google Code Hosting, or to the 'Name Approval' form referenced below? ----- Forwarded Message ---- From: Richard Stallman <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Cc: [email protected] Sent: Sat, October 30, 2010 8:56:27 AM Subject: Re: Fw: Request for project "queue" on code.google.com As far as I know, GNU queue is still alive, but I asked Karl to check and see if there is any problem in its maintenance. Meanwhile, please respond to Google saying that we do still use the name "queue" (although it bothers me that they call it an "open source" project). Should you transfer this Google "ownership" to the current maintainer? -- Richard Stallman President, Free Software Foundation 51 Franklin St Boston MA 02110 USA www.fsf.org, www.gnu.org --------------- Original message: Date: Fri, 29 Oct 2010 04:45:47 +0000 Subject: Request for project "queue" on code.google.com From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Hello, You are getting this email because you are the owner of the "queue" open source project.
