That certificate has three domains listed in the certificate when I
check it in my browser, including *.codespot.com. With command-line
tools:
$ echo | openssl s_client -showcerts -connect hg.googlecode.com:443 |
awk '/-----BEGIN CERTIFICATE-----/,/-----END CERTIFICATE-----/' |
openssl x509 -noout -text | grep -A 1 'X509v3 Subject Alternative
Name:
depth=1 /C=US/O=Google Inc/CN=Google Internet Authority
verify error:num=20:unable to get local issuer certificate
verify return:0
DONE
X509v3 Subject Alternative Name:
DNS:*.googlecode.com, DNS:googlecode.com, DNS:*.codespot.com
IOW, I think Python has busted SSL validation. Again. If I can't
swindle Mads or someone else from crew to look into this, I'll
probably do it myself next quarter.
