I just tried to clone a project but Google Code (Hg) wanted to prefix the name of the repository with myrealname- followed by the name of the clone. This is obviously unacceptable so I wondered where Google was getting my real name from. After poking around for like 20 minutes, I finally found, on my "Profiles" page, that a "username", that consists of my real name, is associated with my account. There is no apparent way to change or remove this username. Believe me, I tried. I searched and clicked everywhere. There's simply no option to delete or change this thing. Don't get me wrong, I have my real name entered into my profile, I just don't want any "usernames" with my real name in them. It is, after all, a username and not a real name. Looking at the form I'm using to enter this message, the From: field has "Ogre <[email protected]>" in it. The name "Ogre" also doesn't show up on my profile anywhere, however, I would much rather prefix any cloned repositories with "ogre-" and not my actual real name. And I'd much rather have any auto-generated "usernames" be my email address and NOT my real name. So... how do I fix this mess?
