The way Android developers deal with HTC Sense based (closed source)
APK containers is to unpack the APKs to dex SMALI, make changes and
repackage.   We use a tool called baksmali -->  http://code.google.com/p/smali/

Each and every APK in our repository is unpackable.

You can see there are 50 or so other modifications made by other
developers using our base APKs for this Android ROM.
