Hi Tal,

The Google Code FAQ provides answers to your questions, see
http://code.google.com/p/support/wiki/FAQ. If Google finds that your project
contains malicious files it will take it offline temporarily and wait for it to
be cleaned. You shouldn’t be worried to lose your files should that happen,
however it’s always a good thing to have backups, on github or somewhere else.

As for us, we mostly report projects that are created solely to host malware so
it shouldn’t create problems for legitimate users of the service.

Regards,

Sébastien

Hi Sebastian,

I am looking at these malware notices and they made we worry. Does it mean that
google can shut down any project's repository, with no advance notice, because
it was classified as malware? If so, what are the avenues to appeal such
decisions?

I use google code as the sole repository for my open source app but start
thinking about having a independent repository such as github mirroring it.

Thanks,

Tal
