Well, it's been over 6 months, and 1) the activity page is still broken, 2) no explanation given from Google. It's as if they just decided "we're removing this useful feature from our site. Why? Because f*ck you, that's why". Guess you get what you pay for. I would encourage anyone with a Git repository to try out GitHub. They don't have an exact equivalent to the activity page, but you can "watch" projects, which allows you to track any future updates (I don't know if it gives you the full history, though). There's also an activity graph that shows how often / when changes have been coming in. It's not as compact as the old activity icon, but what can you do...
