Ok, let's stop to think of what would be the problem with allowing everyone -including round 1A top 1000- to compete in the remaining rounds.
"Dear vexorian, As one of the top 1000 contestants in Round 1A of Google Code Jam 2009, you have unofficially advanced to Round 2! An official announcement will come later. Because you have already advanced to Round 2, you will not be able to compete in Round 1B or Round 1C. " The email begins by saying that the results are not official, but then already forbids you from competing in 1B or 1C.
