So time to put your programming hats on and wreck your brain with the
most unfathomable algorithms

For the first time, TECHSURGE, the Annual Technical fest of Maharaja
Agrasen Institute of technology, will have an online algorithms
contest organized by ONLINE JUDGE CODECHEF. We promise to tickle your
grey cells and baffle your brains.

For Newbies

This is the best time to start learning. This contest just requires a
basic knowledge of C/C++ to begin with and the competitiveness to code
for few hours on a stretch.

Format -

1.       ALGOTHIKA will begin at 1800hrs on 4th March 2010. The
contest page can be accessed from the link given below. ALGOTHIKA 2010
2.       The problems in the contest will require basic knowledge of
data structures and algorithms.
3.       Over 35 Programming Languages supported can be viewed on the
CodeChef website
4.        The participants will be judged using the online judge on
Codechef. So you must have a Codechef ID. For registration at Codechef
click here

Rules and Regulations -

 1.      It’s an individual participation contest. Only individual
participants will be entitled to certificate or any cash prize!
2.       All available languages on CODECHEF will be allowed for
coding.
3.       The contest will begin at 1800hrs on 4th March 2010
4.       If there is a tie after the round is over then tie would be
broken as follows:
             ·          First level tie break will be on the basis of
execution time of the last problem
             ·          Second level tie break will be on the basis of
the execution time of the second last problem
             ·          In case there is still a tie, then the ties
will be broken on the basis of the memory used for the last and then
the second                    last problem.
             ·          In case the tie still persists, then the time
of submissions for the best solution to the last problem will be
considered
5.       The contest ends at 1800hrs on 12th March 2010
6.       For new registrations, please register directly at the
Contest Link on our site (www.maitlive.com) and send in your names
along with your CodeChef ID and your username on MAITLIVE at
[email protected]
General rules
·          There should be no empty/new lines between inputs and
outputs unless mentioned in the problem statement.
·          DONOT include the header file conio.h.(getch and fflush are
not allowed)
·          Use “#include<iostream> using namespace std; ” and NOT
#include<iostream.h> for C++ headers.

Eligibility -

Open to all college students with valid ID cards.
NOTE : each participant must have a Codechef ID and a registration on
the contest link as well,in order to be eligible for the challenge!



Judgment and Evaluation

1.       Winner is judged by maximum problems solved in least amount
of time.
2.       Any discrepancies will be handled by the event organizers and
the decision will be final and binding.
