I just tried wata's code with practice input, and your are right. Compare the codes for small and large, and large has a fix for it "if ( need < 0 ) need = 0".
For wata's sake, maybe the system is giving the source of his first wrong try. Though, it is more likely that he uploaded the wrong source by mistake.
