Can anyone explain,

Round 1A 2011, "B" The Killer Word,
practice contest, small input (B-small-practice.in) case #8, the
second list ("iwrdqtmplkvuechnoxsgzyjbaf", relevant letters here
"wvuhj")

WHY "jwjjjw" scores 1 (according to winner's solutions), not 3?

I feel like I failed "B" solely because I'm mistaking Sean's strategy:

1. After the first guess "w", there are 6 words left (matching _w___w)
jwjjjw
jwhujw
jwvhww *
wwwhuw
jwhjww
hwuhww

2. "v" is the second guess, that rules out the word with asterisk, and
5 words remain, +1 score

3. Sean moves to "u", and has to guess it as there are words
containing it! That will give another +1 score. What I am missing? How
do you solve it with 1 point?
