I disagree with this a little bit. I think there is no requirement on
Google to even provide the excellent level of entertainment that the Google
Code Jam provides every year.

Given that they do this (note that I am not suggesting that they do this
merely out of altruism or a desire to help others), there is also no
requirement on them to provide any kind of analysis or guide.

If there are gaps, I think that it is something that the code jam community
could attempt to fill - much like foxlit provides the awesome
gohero.netsite for finding old solutions in specific languages.

In particular, if you specify a specific problem from the history of Code
Jam (excepting the 2012 final, which I am saving to run in contest
conditions before the next final that I attend), I will describe to you how
I would go from reading the problem to submitting a solution.
